Split to Mostar — direct in two and a half hours, or a full day with stops.
Waterfalls, a stone bridge and a Sufi tekke along the way — and a border crossing you should plan for before you book.
This trip crosses an international border.
Split to Mostar leaves Croatia and enters Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bring your passport — an EU national ID card is not sufficient for this crossing, only a passport is. Check your own document and everyone travelling with you before you book, not at the border. Queues at the crossing vary and can run long in July and August, and that's already built into the direct driving time below.
One border crossing, two very different days.
Split to Mostar takes about two and a half hours direct, crossing from Croatia into Bosnia and Herzegovina en route. Add stops at Kravice waterfalls, the old bridge at Počitelj and the Blagaj tekke, and the same crossing becomes a full day out, typically eight to nine hours door-to-door, with Međugorje available as an optional extra stop.
Two and a half hours, border crossing included.
If Mostar is the destination and not the day out, the direct route is about two and a half hours from Split, with the border crossing factored into that time.
- Door-to-door, no changes and no luggage transfers
- The driver handles the border paperwork with you
- Flight tracked if you're starting from Split Airport
Three stops, plus one optional.
Pick any combination — the driver and the car wait at each stop across the border.
Kravice waterfalls
A wide travertine waterfall you can swim below in summer — plan on 1 to 1.5 hours.
Počitelj
A stone Ottoman-era town built into the hillside above the Neretva river — about 45 minutes on foot.
Blagaj tekke
A Sufi monastery built into a cliff at the source of the Buna river — 45 minutes to an hour.
Međugorje (optional)
Not one of the core three stops — add it when you book if it's part of your day.
Depart at eight, arrive in Mostar by four.
08:00 — Depart Split
Straight south towards the border, crossing into Bosnia and Herzegovina en route.
09:45 — Kravice waterfalls
1 to 1.5 hours — bring a towel if you plan to swim.
11:30 — Počitelj
A 45-minute walk through the old stone town.
12:45 — Blagaj tekke
45 minutes to an hour by the river.
14:00 — Optional: Međugorje
Add this stop when you book if it's part of your day.
16:00 — Arrive Mostar
Door-to-door to your hotel or the Stari Most bridge.
What's in the quote, and what isn't.
The stops and the border crossing don't cost extra driving time — the car and driver wait for you at each one, and that's part of the fixed price you agree on WhatsApp.
- The driver and vehicle for the whole day, including waiting at every stop and the border
- Fuel and tolls for the full route
- Door-to-door pick-up and drop-off at either end
- Entry fees at Kravice, Počitelj, Blagaj or Međugorje
- Food and drinks along the way
- Your own valid passport — that part is on you
Questions, answered.
Do I need a passport for this trip, or is an ID card enough?
You need a passport. Bosnia and Herzegovina is not in the EU, so an EU national ID card isn't accepted at this crossing — check everyone in your group has a valid passport before you book.
How long does the Croatia-Bosnia border crossing take?
It varies. Outside peak summer it's usually quick; in July and August queues can build, and that's already factored into the direct driving time we quote.
Is Mostar a long drive from Split?
About two and a half hours direct, border crossing included.
Can we visit Kravice waterfalls without doing the full stop list?
Yes — tell us which of Kravice, Počitelj, Blagaj and Međugorje you want and we'll leave the rest out.
Is Međugorje part of the standard stop list?
It's an optional extra, not one of the core three stops — add it when you book if you want it.
How do we get a fixed price for the with-stops version?
A fixed price on WhatsApp in under 10 minutes (08:00–20:00 CET). Tell us your stops, group size and luggage and the price comes back fixed, border crossing included.
