From Split Airport it is roughly 1h15 to the Riviera on a normal day, along the coast road through Omiš, and longer on a summer Saturday. A private transfer does it in one go: your driver meets you inside arrivals, the bags go in the boot, and the next stop is your door. No shuttle into Split, no change at the bus station, no hunting for the apartment with a week's luggage.

The coast road, or the motorway.
Two roads lead to the Riviera. The coast road — the Jadranska magistrala — leaves Split to the east, runs through Omiš at the mouth of the Cetina and then follows the steep coast above the sea. It is the scenic way, and on a normal day it has you on the Riviera in roughly 1h15. The motorway runs inland and comes down to the Riviera from behind Biokovo: more kilometres, but it bypasses Split's eastern edge and Omiš. When the coast road is at a crawl through Omiš on a July Saturday, that can be the quicker way in.

And if you want a car for the whole week anyway, a rental from the airport makes more sense than any transfer.
Going home: leave early enough.
The ride back to the airport is the one to plan with a margin. It is the same road in the other direction, and on a summer Saturday the coast through Omiš and into Split can be at its slowest just when you need to be at check-in. Send us the flight time when you book and we will suggest a pickup time that works back from it, with room for the traffic. The driver's name, photo, vehicle and plate arrive the day before, as they do on the way in.

How long is the transfer from Split Airport to Makarska?
Roughly 1h15 to the Riviera on a normal day, along the coast road through Omiš. Brela and Baška Voda come a little sooner, Tučepi and Podgora a little later. Allow more time on summer Saturdays, when the coast road slows through Omiš.
Do you take the coast road or the motorway?
Whichever is quicker on the day. The coast road through Omiš is the direct line; the motorway runs inland and comes down to the Riviera from behind Biokovo, which can be the faster choice when the coast is jammed. Tolls are included in the fixed price either way.
What if my flight is delayed?
We track it, so your driver already knows. 30 minutes of free waiting is included from actual landing, and we don't charge for delays outside your control.
When should we be picked up for the flight home?
Give us the flight time when you book and we'll suggest a pickup that works back from it, with a margin for traffic. On a July or August Saturday that means earlier than the drive time alone suggests — this is not the leg to cut fine.
Is there room for a week's luggage?
Yes. Tell us how many of you there are and how many bags, and we send a car sized for them — or two cars that leave together for a bigger group. Luggage is part of the fixed price.
How do I get a price for Makarska?
