Čiovo is the island across the channel from Trogir's old town, joined to it by bridge. From Split Airport the drive takes roughly 15 to 30 minutes depending on which end of the island you are staying at — Okrug Gornji and Arbanija are the closest, Okrug Donji and Slatine the furthest — and longer on a July or August afternoon, when traffic stacks up at the bridge. Along the coast, over the bridge
West on the coast road to Trogir, about six kilometres, then across the bridge onto Čiovo. From there the island roads are narrower and climb in places, and the last stretch to many apartments is a lane rather than a road.

The car stops at your address, not at a bus stop or a village car park. The driver helps with the bags, and you pay in the car — card or cash.

Apartments and villas
Couples and families on Čiovo mostly stay in holiday apartments and villas, many of them up a slope from the sea. Cases for a week, a stroller, a bag of beach things — a car that stops at the gate matters more here than it does outside a hotel.
Late arrivals
The last flights of the evening land when the taxi rank has thinned out and the island lanes are dark. We track the flight, wait 30 minutes free from actual landing, and find your gate from your pin rather than from a house number you cannot read at night.
Groups sharing a villa
Tell us the group size and the bag count and we bring the right car — or two cars that leave the airport together, so nobody waits at the villa for the second half.
Travelling light, in daylight, with no fixed check-in time? Bus 37 stops outside arrivals and runs to Trogir bus station — but from there you still have to get across the bridge and up to the apartment. For one backpack that is fine. With cases, an evening landing or a host waiting with the keys, a car to the door is the simpler plan.
Arrive at the address, not at "somewhere on Čiovo".
Island addresses are where a sat-nav gets you close and then stops helping: lanes that look alike, gates without numbers, two houses sharing one drive. The fix is simple, and it happens before you fly.

The return run, timed around the bridge.
Going home, the distance is the same, but the bridge decides the timing. On summer afternoons — Saturdays especially, when apartments change over — traffic on and off the island can queue, so we set the pickup time with that in mind, not from the map alone. Early flights are ordinary bookings: a 05:30 pickup at an Okrug apartment is simply booked the day before.

How long is the drive from Split Airport to Okrug Gornji?
Roughly 15 to 20 minutes outside the summer peak — about six kilometres to Trogir, then over the bridge and across the island. The far ends of Čiovo, Okrug Donji and Slatine, take longer, and on a July or August afternoon the bridge can add more.
Do you drive right to the apartment door?
Yes, wherever a car can get to. Send the address or a map pin with the booking. If the last stretch is a footpath or a lane too narrow to turn in, we tell you the nearest point when we confirm.
Does the summer bridge traffic affect the transfer?
On arrival it mostly means a slower last few kilometres, and because the price is fixed it costs you nothing extra. For the return we set the pickup time with the bridge in mind, and on summer Saturday afternoons we leave more margin before your flight.
Our flight lands late at night. Is that a problem?
No. Rides run around the clock, the flight is tracked, and you get 30 minutes of free waiting from when you actually land. Quotes are answered between 08:00 and 20:00 CET, so send the request during the day and the late pickup is simply booked.
How much is a transfer from Split Airport to Čiovo?
We do not publish a price list, because the honest number depends on the village, the hour, the passenger count and the luggage. Send the address and you get a fixed door-to-door price back, usually in under 10 minutes between 08:00 and 20:00 CET, and it does not change once you accept it — bridge traffic or not.
